The Basics: We are looking for men and women between the ages of 18-60 who injure themselves regularly to participate in a research study at The New York State Psychiatric Institute that is evaluating a possible new treatment for self-injury called transcranial direct current stimulation, or tDCS.  tDCS is a non-invasive form of electrical brain stimulation.

The research study involves 12 sessions of tDCS over two weeks. We offer three months of visits with a psychiatrist in our research group at no cost after tDCS.

Compensation for your time and effort:  Up to $150 if you are eligible and choose to participate. Up to 3 months of visits with a psychiatrist at no cost to you.
